Campus Cards can get lost, broken, or occasionally stolen. Here’s what to do if that happens.

Worn-out cards

If your card has worn out or has passed its expiry date, then the IT Service Desk may be able to replace it for free. You will need to hand in your expired or damaged card to them.

Lost cards

If you lose your card, you must let the IT Service Desk know as soon as possible. They will deactivate it as soon as you tell them to make sure that no-one can pretend to be you. Until you tell them that your card is missing, you may be liable for any unauthorised use.

Once the Service Desk has deactivated your card, it cannot be reset and so you will need to buy a new one from them at a cost of £10.

Stolen cards

CIS don’t charge a replacement fee for stolen campus cards if you provide a crime number. To get a crime number, you’ll need to report the theft to the police.

Please contact CIS (Computing and Information Service) directly for further information.
